The TV action for the Third Round of the FA Cup concludes on Monday night where non-league Dagenham & Redbridge travel to Millwall. While it can be tough to draw parallels between an established Championship side and a team within the National League, both of these sides have recently parted ways with their manager. Millwall have already replaced club legend Neil Harris with Alex Neil, while the Daggers still have an interim manager in Lewis Young. The latter has had a positive influence so far on his side with four points from a possible six in the two away games he has taken charge of, somewhat turning around their wretched record on the road. This does deliver a different level of challenge, however.

These two sides did meet in the FA Cup Third Round thirteen years ago where a then League Two Dagenham & Redbridge held Millwall to a 0-0 draw before being demolished 5-0 in the replay just ten days later. A young Harry Kane scored a brace on that evening, with strike partner Darius Henderson scored a hat-trick.

Millwall striker Macaulay Langstaff got the move he deserved following 98 goals across the three previous seasons. Things have not gone swimmingly since his move in the summer, and he has only found the net once in 24 Championship appearances. He will be relishing the chance to go up against National League opposition once again, where he enjoyed his best goalscoring season to date with 42 goals as his old side Notts County gained promotion to the Football League. Within that season, Langstaff faced Dagenham twice, the first of these was a 5-1 victory where Langstaff recorded a hat-trick. Given the goalscoring record of Langstaff at that level, I was shocked to see some value in the goalscorer markets for him here and am happy to take full advantage, backing the striker to score at 7/5 and then having a small play on him to score two and three at 17/2 and 40/1 respectively.
