Coming into this matchweek, Chelsea are clinging onto the final place in the Premier League's top four. Enzo Maresca refused to be drawn into talk regarding a potential title challenge around Christmas, and was proven correct by his side who have relinquished their grip on the top two sides, and have fallen back into a fight for the Champions League places. They have however, maintained some strong form at Stamford Bridge, and will certainly be motivated to get the better of rivals Tottenham. Ange Postecoglu's Spurs side come here looking almost certain to finish outside the top half of the Premier League for the first time since 2008 - ironically the last season they won a trophy. That looks to be the only saviour for Postecoglu, and the only chance of any silverware will come in the Europa League. Despite this being a match against bitter rivals, I'm sure their priorities will be elsewhere.
Should there be any positives to come out of Tottenham's injury crisis, it would be the emergence of Djed Spence. The young full back's days looked numbered at Spurs until being forced into the starting lineup, and he hasn't let the opportunity pass him by, with him starting nine of Spurs' last ten matches. He has not been scared to get forward, and that fits the Postecoglu system well. This has led to him drawing a large number of fouls, being fouled 23 times in his last 8 starts. He has been fouled at least twice in eleven of his last thirteen starts, averaging 1.98 fouls won per 90 this season. I was surprised to see even money on offer for him to continue this run, and am happy to get stuck in.
