BEST BETS:
LIECHTENSTEIN VS NORTH MACEDONIA:
SANDRO WIESER - TO BE CARDED - 15/8 (SKY BET) - 1PT
Wales' bid to qualify for a second consecutive World Cup gets underway on Saturday evening as they welcome Kazakhstan to the Cardiff City Stadium. Despite having the likes of Kazakhstan and Liechtenstein in their qualifying group, they must get the better of one of Belgium and North Macedonia to make it to their third World Cup. Elsewhere, Norway look to make it to a first major tournament for 26 years, having last qualified in 2000. Having Erling Haaland and Martin Odegaard at their disposal will aid their chances, but they'll have to overcome one of Germany or Italy if they're to guarantee their place in North America next summer.
LIECHTENSTEIN VS NORTH MACEDONIA
North Macedonia will bid to make their first World Cup in their nation's history, having only appeared within Yugoslavia in previous years. They did make their first major tournament when qualifying for the 2020 European Championships, and they'll fancy their chances of getting off to the perfect start here when they travel to Liechtenstein - who are ranked 137 places below them in the FIFA World Rankings. Liechtenstein have suffered two recent defeats to San Marino in the previous Nations League campaign, and it's hard to see how they'll cope with the gulf in class between the two nations.
My attention has been drawn to the price on offer for Sandro Wieser to pick up a card in this one. The Liechtenstein veteran has been carded a whopping 36 times in his 3,687 minutes across the last two seasons. He's also been carded in five of his last six appearances for his nation, and in two of his three appearances against Saturday's opponents North Macedonia - including being sent off in their last meeting. He's likely to line up at centre back for this one, and an opposing central defender has been carded in seven of the last fifteen games against North Macedonia.
