It's crunch time for eight of Europe's elite on Tuesday evening when the second legs of their play-off ties get underway. All four of Tuesday's fixtures are hanging in the balance, with all of them only having a one-goal margin separating each side.
BENFICA VS MONACO
Just six days on from their first leg clash, Benfica and Monaco do battle once more with the Portuguese side taking a one-goal lead back to the Estádio da Luz. This was the second meeting between these sides this season - having met in the League Phase where Benfica also enjoyed a victory in the Principality winning 3-2.
One player who has made his mark in both fixtures between the sides this season is Evangelos Pavlidis. The Greek striker has scored nine goals in his last five starts, which includes five goals in three Champions League appearances. Pavlidis has scored in both meetings between the sides this season, and with 6/4 on offer for him to get on the scoresheet once again, I am keen to get him onside once again. Just one week on from selecting both the aforementioned Pavlidis, and new Monaco signing Mika Biereth to score, I am going to do the same once more. Whilst Biereth did fail to score in last week's meeting, he made up for that scoring a hat-trick in the 7-1 drubbing of Nantes on Saturday. That hat-trick took his tally to seven goals in six starts since signing from Sturm Graz in January, and given the way the tie is set, he will undoubtedly be looking to leave his mark on this one. Monaco have scored sixteen goals in the six matches that Biereth has started, meaning his has scored 44% of their goals in that time. I would anticipate that this will be a much more open encounter than we saw last week in Monaco, and therefore, I am happy to double this up again and take a small punt on the 8/1 on offer for both players to score.
