Reigning champions Real Madrid bid to dump out cross-city rivals Atletico Madrid on their way to the Champions League Quarter-Finals. They have a 2-1 lead to defend following their win in at the Bernabeu last week, and there is nobody better than Carlo Ancelotti in managing these situations, so they'll fancy their chances of making the last eight, once again. One side almost certainly assured of their place in the last eight is Arsenal, they ran out 7-1 winners away in Holland last week, and it's likely that they'll use this opportunity to rotate their squad. Last year's runners-up Borussia Dortmund face a tough task away at Lille, if they are to keep their season alive, with them being out of the running for any trophies domestically. Aston Villa will look to join Arsenal in the last eight, on their return to this competition. They take a commanding 3-1 lead back to Villa Park, and given the record of coach Unai Emery in European competition, it's hard to see them not progressing.
LILLE VS BORUSSIA DORTMUND
Lille have claimed the scalps of both Madrid sides this season in the Champions League, they're looking to make the Quarter-Finals of the Champions League for the first time in their history, and given their record at the Stade Pierre Mauroy. The French side have only lost twice at home all season - a shock defeat to Le Havre, and to PSG in Ligue 1. They welcome an out of sorts Borussia Dortmund side, who have not responded as well as many would have hoped under new boss Niko Kovac. Dortmund currently sit tenth in the Bundesliga, and this remains their only hope of any silverware. However, a success in his looks unlikely given their domestic form.
I am keen to get Lille on side here, with their impressive home record. They were unlucky to not get a result at Signal Iduna Park last week, and have already beaten Real Madrid at home this season, they look to be overpriced in the market, with Dortmund going into this one as the favourites. The German side have lost four of their last seven on the road, and I can see them struggling here in France. Lille have had six home games in the Champions League this season, and have won five, drawing the other. Therefore, I will look to take advantage of their generous price. Backing Lille at 0.0 on the Asian Handicap gives us the security of getting a refund should they draw the game, and us landing a winner if they go on to win the game.
