The new Champions League format hasn't been for everyone. However, Celtic are certainly one club who have benefitted from it, having progressed into the knockout stages of the Champions League for the first time in twelve seasons. They had the chance of Bayern Munich or Real Madrid in the Play-Off Round, and I'm sure the Parkhead faithful will be happy with the outcome.

CLUB BRUGGE VS ATALANTA

The lowest scoring side in the Champions League to progress into the knockout stages is Club Brugge, the Belgian champions may have lost their blockbuster clash against Manchester City, but still managed to sneak into this Play-Off Round. They face an Atalanta side who have impressed thus far this season, the Italian side have scored twenty goals in their eight League Phase games this season, and you'd not bet against them continuing that goalscoring form here.

Atalanta come into this competition off the back of winning the Europa League last season, being the only side to beat Bayer Leverkusen, and doing so in convincing fashion. They are a side who only know one way, and that is attack. Gian Piero Gasperini's side come into this one off the back of a 5-0 Serie A victory over Verona, four of those goals were scored by top goalscorer Mateo Retegui, and I fancy his goalscoring form to continue here. Retegui has 23 goals in just 1,933 minutes this season (a goal every 84 minutes), he has scored in 12 of his starts this season, and half of those have seen him score at least twice, so the 12/1 on offer for him to make that 7/13 looks appealing. Atalanta have seen thirteen of their twenty Champions League goals come in their four away games, and I back them to get the tie wrapped up here.

CELTIC VS BAYERN MUNICH

Celtic have made Parkhead a fortress this season, which has led to them progressing into the knockout stages of this competition. They are unbeaten in all 21 of their home matches this season, including winning three of their four home matches in the Champions League. They welcome a Bayern Munich side who have been hit and miss on their travels this season. Vincent Kompany's side have tasted defeat in four of their sixteen away matches this season, which includes losses in three of their four away Champions League games. Of the twelve matches that they're unbeaten in away from home, they have only won half of these by at least a two-goal margin. Given that Celtic have a formidable home record, and they'll be looking to stay in this tie in the first leg, I am happy to take the 29/20 on offer for Celtic +1 in the Asian Handicap markets. This means that we will have a winner should Celtic maintain their unbeaten home record and if Bayern can only win by one goal, we will get a refund.

FEYENOORD VS AC MILAN

Despite progressing through to the knockout stages of the Champions League, Feyenoord dismissed their successor to Arne Slot following a 3-0 victory over Rotterdam rivals Sparta at the weekend. They currently sit fifth in the Eredivisie and cited "inconsistent results and a lack of progress" as the reason behind Priske's sacking. They welcome seven-time European Champions AC Milan to De Kuip, who are benefitting from replacing their manager, having won seven of their last eleven under Sergio Conceicao.

A major factor behind Feyenoord's progression in this competition was talisman Santiago Gimenez, the Mexican striker fired in five Champions League goals in as many appearances. However, Feyenoord did lose him in the January transfer window. This will undoubtedly be a major hinderance for Feyenoord, with Gimenez's goals being hard to replace. The transfer of the Mexican striker will be felt even further by the Dutch side here, given that he moved to Italy and AC Milan. He has a quick return to Holland, and I am backing him to make his presence felt. I enjoyed great success in back Gimenez to score in this competition this season, and I'm hoping that continues here. He has seventeen goals in 1,290 minutes this season, which is an average of a goal every 75 minutes. This record has been maintained since his move to Italy with him bagging one goal in his 75 minutes that he has played for The Rossoneri.

MONACO VS BENFICA

Much like Juventus and PSV's clash on Tuesday evening, we have another repeat of a League Phase fixture when Benfica travel to Monaco. These two sides played out an enthralling encounter back in November when Benfica took all three points from Stade Louis II in a 3-2 win. Despite it being a first leg tie, I think goals could be in order here once again, given these two sides saw an average of 3.25 (Monaco) and 3.5 (Benfica) goals in their League Phase matches.

The goalscoring mantle for Monaco looks to fall with new signing Mika Biereth who joined from Sturm Graz in the January transfer window. His good form in the first half of the season secured him a move to Monaco, and he has already managed four goals in the Principality. He has eighteen goals in 2,348 minutes this season, which includes two in this competition for Sturm Graz. Given the likelihood of goals here, Biereth looks the prime candidate in a Monaco shirt.

When it comes to the Portuguese side, the prime candidate looks to be Greek striker Vangelos Pavlidis. He enters this one in red-hot form scoring eight goals in his last four appearances, which includes scoring four in two matches in the Champions League. He's averaging a goal every 161 minutes for the season, but looks to have found his form in recent weeks. This is replicating the form he showed in Holland last season for AZ Alkmaar, Pavlidis scored 33 goals in 46 matches last season, and rates the most likely to find the net here for Benfica. He did also manage a goal in their 3-2 victory here back in November.
