BEST BETS:
BAYERN MUNICH VS INTER MILAN:
FEDERICO DIMARCO - TO HAVE 2+ SHOTS - 12/5 (CORAL) - 0.5PTS
Arsenal bid to reach the Champions League Semi-Finals for the first time since 2009. However, standing in their way is the fifteen time champions Real Madrid. Carlo Ancelotti's men dumped out Madrid rivals Atletico in the last round in a controversial penalty shootout. They'll need to be in better form than recent weeks if they are to get the better of Arsenal here. However, they seem to be a different beast in this competition. It will be important for the Gunners to have something to defend when they go to the Bernabeu next week. Tuesday's other tie sees Bayern Munich host Inter Milan at the Allianz Arena, in what is a repeat of the 2010 Final.
BAYERN MUNICH VS INTER MILAN
Bayern Munich sit just four wins away from regaining the Bundesliga title, which would provide Harry Kane a first career trophy. They are also the slight favourites to progress from this tie against a stubborn Inter Milan side. Simone Inzaghi's men have conceded just two goals across their Champions League campaign thus far, and will look to utilise that impressive defensive record when trying to get the better of Bayern here. Both sides come into this one nursing injury issues with Jamal Musiala & Dayot Upamecano being out for the hosts, whilst Denzel Dumfries will be absent for Inter.
I have already tipped Inter Milan to win the tournament in the previous round, believing that their strong defensive showing will be enough to get them to the final across two legs. They will still require a potency in attack, and with Lautauro Martinez and Marcus Thuram scoring nine of their fifteen goals in this competition, I feel that they will have enough going forwards to get the better in the coming rounds. Despite not contributing on the scoresheet in the Champions League so far this season, Federico Dimarco still offers a threat going forward for the Italian side. The wing back has registered at least two shots in nineteen of his thirty starts this season, and I can see that continuing here. He is averaging 2.37 shots per 90 this season, and has had six shots across his three previous Champions League starts in this campaign. 33% of his shots have also come from free-kicks this season, so we have the added bonus of him being a likely free-kick taker alongside midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu.
As can be seen below, Dimarco occupies a position high up the pitch in this season's Champions League, allowing him to be involved in Inter Milan's attacking phases.
