BRENTFORD VS TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR

A win on Thursday evening over Elfsborg eased some of the pressure on Ange Postecoglu as Spurs progressed into the Last 16 of the Europa League. It was a welcome reprieve for the Aussie manager given the mounting pressure that he has faced with his side languishing in 15th place in the Premier League. Given results on Saturday afternoon, Spurs now find themselves just seven points clear of the drop zone, so will be keen to get a result when they travel across London to Brentford, so they can pull away from any threat of being dragged into the relegation battle. Following going unbeaten in their first ten home matches in all competitions, Brentford are now winless in their last five matches at the Gtech, so will look to return to winning ways against a decimated Tottenham side.

Despite the positive result on Thursday evening, Spurs were subjected to yet more injury issues when Radu Dragusin was forced off after just 20 minutes. They'll welcome both Djed Spence and Sergio Reguilon back to the squad following their ineligibility in the Europa League, and this will allow Ben Davies to slot back in at centre back in place of the injured Dragusin. I would expect that Spence should come back into the side following his return from a slight knock, and due to not being part of the Spurs Europa League squad. I am once again keen to get him onside when it comes to making tackles with this being priced at 6/4. He has made at least three tackles in six of his eight starts for Spurs this season, and this is priced as short as 17/20 elsewhere.

ARSENAL VS MANCHESTER CITY

In what has been the 'Clash of the Heavyweights' in recent seasons, the edge has slightly come off this one given the respective seasons that each side have endured. Nevertheless, it's still a Titanic battle between two of the best sides in the world. Both sides enjoyed progression into the Champions League knockout stages on Wednesday evening, despite the path of Manchester City being far from straightforward. They will be keen to ensure they are once again playing in Europe's premier club competition next season, and if they are to do so, they will need to put together a string of positive results, and will be keen to start here. Arsenal will be looking to keep the pressure on Liverpool, despite there being a nine point gap between the sides heading into this one.

The recent upturn in Manchester City's form can be put down to the performances of last season's Player of the Season Phil Foden. His return to form has seen him bag six goals in as many starts, with City going unbeaten in eight matches domestically. That has seen them get into the top four, and they will be looking to put some daylight between themselves and Newcastle in fifth place. Foden has taken at least two shots in 19 of his 22 starts this season, and I was surprised to see the price on him to have 2+ shots here at 17/20. He is averaging 3.42 shots per 90 this season, and has had at least three shots in 14 of those 22 starts, so I am happy to also take a punt on him to have 3+ shots at 12/5. Arsenal are likely to have one eye on their Carabao Cup Semi-Final second leg on Wednesday evening, albeit they face an uphill battle from two goals down away at Newcastle.

Arsenal will be boosted by the news that Myles Lewis-Skelly's controversial dismissal at Wolves last weekend has been overturned, and he will be able to play here. The youngster has put some real standout performances in when filling in at left back for Mikel Arteta's side this season. He has been fouled 2+ times in eight of his ten starts, and the 7/4 on offer for him to be fouled 2+ times here is an enormous price. Lewis-Skelly is averaging 3.19 fouls won per 90 this season and is likely to find himself up against Matheus Nunes who has been operating as a makeshift right back in recent weeks, the Portuguese international is committing 1.58 fouls on average per 90 this season, and I am happy to get stuck in on the 6/1 on offer for Lewis-Skelly to be fouled 3+ times as well.
