El Clásico heads to Saudi Arabia for the third time in as many years, for the Spanish Super Cup Final. Both Real Madrid and Barcelona eased into the final, which is in it's sixth edition since it's revamp to a four-team tournament. It is likely that these sides will form the chasing pack in La Liga by the time this fixture kicks off as Atletico Madrid look set to take pole position following their resurgent form. Real Madrid will be looking to equal Barcelona's record of 14 wins in this competition with a victory here, and did so in decisive fashion just 12 months ago. Whilst this will not be a major priority for either of these sides this season, another classic is sure to follow.
A customary part of any El Clásico is the likelihood of emotions running too highly, and I feel that could be the case here. Two players who are never too far from the referee's attention in any fixture, let alone this one is Vinicius Junior and Gavi. The former has been carded in five of his last nine appearances against Barcelona, he is also set to spend two matches on the sidelines as he serves a suspension for a red card against Valencia in his last La Liga outing. Gavi is another who is no stranger to the referee's notebook, especially against Real Madrid, where the Barcelona youngster has been carded in four of his last seven appearances. I feel the prices on offer here, given the circumstances, are generous and I am happy to get stuck in on both the singles and as a double. Referee Jesus Gil Manzano is averaging 5.13 cards per match across the last two seasons, and I can see him being busy here.
El Clásico has always been a match where the focus is on the superstars involved, whether this was Zidane, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo or Messi. The next crop of superstars are ready to put on a show here, and I feel that Jude Bellingham will take centre stage, yet again. Bellingham has scored in nine of his last eleven matches for Real Madrid and has scored in two of his four El Clásico appearances. The price on offer here for Bellingham to find the net at 33/10 is very inflated and I am happy to take advantage of this. There have been 21 goals across the last five head-to-heads and in the likely event that goals are the order of the day here, I can see Bellingham being involved.
