LEICESTER CITY VS CRYSTAL PALACE

Ruud van Nistelrooy and Leicester tasted victory in the FA Cup on Saturday, following a run of five straight defeats in the Premier League. They'll be hoping to carry that form (which saw them put six goals past Queens Park Rangers) into this one against Crystal Palace. The visitors will be hoping for a victory here to put some daylight between themselves and the Premier League drop zone.

Once again, Boubakary Soumare represents great value within the cards market, the Frenchman has picked up eight cards so far in the Premier League this season, taking his total to 20 cards across the last two seasons. Soumare is averaging 1.30 fouls committed per 90 this season and this has led to him being carded in five of his last six Premier League appearances, and I am happy to back this run to continue against Crystal Palace here. Eberechi Eze and Jefferson Lerma will likely play in the Palace midfield, and they have averaged 2.03 and 1.74 fouls won per 90 respectively. If this continues here, Soumare is likely to be at the forefront of the referee's attention and with Andy Madley in charge here, who is averaging 4.35 cards per game this season, I am happy to take the value on offer for Soumare to pick up a card.

NEWCASTLE UNITED VS WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS

Following a successful week of cup action for Newcastle, they return to Premier League action looking to make it nine straight wins in all competitions. They'll have to do so against Vitor Pereira's Wolves who have been rejuvenated since the Portuguese manager took to the Molineux dugout. They did suffer defeat last time out in Premier League action. However, that was against Nottingham Forest, who like Newcastle are throwing down their European claims.

One trend I have noticed since the arrival of Pereira at Wolves is the record of opposing central midfielders against his Wolves side, there has been at least one of the opposing central midfielders carded in all five of his games in charge. Therefore, I was surprised to see the 4.00 on offer for Joelinton to pick up a card here. Joelinton has been carded in four of his last five Premier League appearances, and has already racked up eight yellow cards in all competitions this season. The Brazilian is committing an average of 2.05 fouls per 90 this season, and against a side who are drawing plenty of yellow cards out of opposing midfielders, I am happy to get stuck in on the price that is on offer.

BARCELONA VS REAL BETIS

Barcelona meet Real Betis in the Last 16 of the Copa del Rey where they will be looking to continue their progress towards a second piece of silverware following on from their demolition job of El Clásico rivals Real Madrid in Jeddah to claim the Spanish Super Cup. It was a contrasting weekend for their opponents Real Betis, who were beaten 1-0 in league action against bottom side Real Valladolid. They'll be looking to take advantage of the taxing schedule that Barcelona have endured during their trip to Saudi Arabia to claim a scalp here.

Jose Maria Sanchez has been awarded this fixture, which is music to the ears of those who are looking to back cards, the referee has averaged 5.69 cards per game across the last two seasons and has not been opposed to dishing out the cards in the Copa del Rey, handing out 33 cards in his five matches in the competition during that period.

There were cards aplenty for Barcelona in their Super Cup triumph this weekend, with then receiving four yellow cards and a red card in the final. One player who somehow managed to avoid a booking was Marc Casado, the youngster committed eight fouls in the final to follow his two that he committed in the semi-final against Athletic Bilbao. He is averaging 1.89 fouls committed per 90 this season and has picked up 18 cards in his 4,621 minutes since the start of last season. Therefore, I am happy to get stuck in on the 5.10 on offer for him to be cautioned, as this should be closer to 3.85.
