TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR VS LIVERPOOL

Just 17 days on from a nine-goal thriller in the Premier League, Tottenham and Liverpool meet again, this time in the EFL Cup Semi-Finals. Tottenham's search for silverware goes on, and they'll be hoping to get the better of a thriving Liverpool side over the two legs. Arne Slot will have his eyes set on his first trophy in the Liverpool dugout, replicating the success that Jurgen Klopp achieved last season. This will not be the main focus for Slot, given his sides' positions in the Premier League and Champions League. However, they'd fancy their chances against an erratic Spurs outfit over at what will be at least 180 minutes.

My eyes were immediately drawn to the price of Spurs' suspension specialist Rodrigo Bentancur. Fresh back into the squad from his second suspension of the season, which followed on from his seven game ban for derogatory comments regarding his teammate Heung-Min Son. Whilst it has been a patchy run in the team for Bentancur owing to injury and suspension, he has still picked up seven bookings in just 1,163 minutes of football this season. He does benefit from a 'clean slate' in this competition where a booking in this one would be essentially 'free', and I feel that the Uruguayan could take advantage of that here against a Liverpool side who Spurs will be keen to get the better of whilst they have home advantage. I believe Bentancur's price for a card should be coming in at around 2.95, so am happy to take the value in the 3.40 on offer.

ATHLETIC BILBAO VS BARCELONA

Saudi Arabia once again plays host to the Spanish Super Cup, for the sixth edition in the revamped format of four teams. 2021 champions Athletic Bilbao will be hoping to replicate their success in the competition against Barcelona, in what will be the Basque clubs first appearance since their triumph four years ago. Barcelona enter this edition as the most successful club in the competitions history. However, they do so in farcical circumstances surrounding their failed registration of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor. Bilbao come into this one unbeaten in fifteen matches, and will fancy their chances of getting another victory over Barcelona.

I was attracted to the price of Bilbao midfielder Benat Prados in the cards market, priced up at 5.40 (next best price is 3.50). Benat has been carded the most of all Bilbao players this season and also picked up a card against Barcelona on their way to Copa del Rey success - which granted their qualification for this competition. Another player who represents good value within the cards market is Marc Casado, one of Barcelona's fledgling youngsters has been no stranger to a card during his impressive run within the Barcelona side, and I back that to continue here. Following 18 cards in 4,448 minutes across the past two seasons he should be priced at around 3.75, so I am happy to take advantage of the 4.50 on offer. An opposing central midfielder has been carded in 14 of Bilbao's 26 games this season.
