BEST BETS:
ETHAN NWANERI - TO HAVE 1+ SHOT ON TARGET - 4/5 (UNIBET) - 1PT
JORDAN AYEW - TO BE CARDED - 3/1 (PADDY POWER) - 0.5PTS
Arsenal are fresh into this one from a trip to Dubai, something which galvanised their season last campaign. However, in their absence, they have only fallen further behind in the Premier League title race, and lost their only recognised fit striker to a hamstring injury for the rest of the season. They'll welcome a trip to relegation threatened Leicester City, in hope that they can cut the gap to Liverpool, even just for 24 hours. Leicester come into this one on the back of a controversial last minute defeat at the hands of Man United in the FA Cup last weekend, should they bring that level of performance into this one, they'll be hoping to cause Arsenal problems.
Given the injury issues that plague the Arsenal attack, it is likely that the load will fall on the shoulders of youngster Ethan Nwaneri. The 17 year-old has impressed in his multiple cameos in the Arsenal side this season. He has had a shot on target in four of his seven starts, and is averaging 1.65 shots on target per 90 this season. Against a Leicester side who are conceding 5.84 shots on target per game under Ruud van Nistelrooy, I am happy to take the 4/5 on offer for Nwaneri to hit the target. Another youngster who has benefitted from a run in the Arsenal team is Myles Lewis-Skelly, the product of Hale End is playing in an unorthodox left back role, and has taken it in his stride. I've enjoyed success in back him to get fouled in his appearances this season. However, the bookies seem to have finally clocked on, and now he is priced accordingly. I am now looking for alternative ways to exploit this angle, and have been drawn to the price on Jordan Ayew to be carded. The Ghanian should be up against Lewis-Skelly in this one, and is committing 1.65 fouls on average per 90 this season, he's also been carded five times, taking his tally to fourteen cards across the last two seasons. With Lewis-Skelly averaging 3.05 fouls won per 90, I can see Ayew leaving his mark on him, and ultimately ending up in the referee's notebook.
