ARSENAL VS WEST HAM UNITED
Arsenal were struggling in the absence of a recognised striker last weekend against Leicester, and only broke the deadlock when Mikel Arteta turned to the bench and utilised midfielder Mikel Merino as a makeshift striker, the Spaniard came on and score a brace to secure Arsenal the three points. Given the way that Merino changed the game, I fancy him to be started up front in this one for the Gunners, and I am drawn to the prices of him to score. Should he start as a striker, the 11/4 on offer for him to get on the scoresheet looks huge. Any Arsenal striker against a struggling West Ham side priced at 11/4 is something you cannot turn down. I am also happy to have a small punt on him to repeat the feat of last weekend, and score a brace at 19/1.
FULHAM VS CRYSTAL PALACE
A trip across London awaits Crystal Palace as they face rivals Fulham. Should they be looking to get anything out of this one, they'll be relying on striker Jean-Philippe Mateta, with the Frenchman having scored seven goals in as many games. He got on the scoresheet last weekend in their defeat to Everton and that took his tally to 14 goals in just 2,360 minutes this season. Given the 11/4 on offer here, I am happy to get stuck in.
WEST BROMWICH ALBION VS OXFORD UNITED
West Brom suffered an injury to top scorer Josh Maja in January, and new manager Tony Mowbray wasted no time in replacing the Nigerian. He brought in Adam Armstrong - someone who he had teamed up with at Blackburn to great success. Armstrong scored 24 goals last season as he fired Southampton back to the Premier League. He has enjoyed being amongst the goals since signing on loan for the Baggies in January, and I back him to get himself on the scoresheet once again here.
COLCHESTER UNITED VS AFC WIMBLEDON
AFC Wimbledon have enjoyed an eleven match unbeaten run which has catapulted them into the automatic promotion spaces in League Two, this can largely be put down to them having the league's top scorer in Matty Stevens. The 27 year-old joined them from Forest Green Rovers in the summer, and has hit the ground running, scoring 20 goals in 2,805 minutes this season - with him averaging a goal every 140 minutes. I back Stevens to be amongst the goals here once again, with him scoring in the reverse fixture earlier in the season - taking his total to five goals in five appearances against Colchester. The 10/3 on offer for him to score looks a massive price.
NOTTS COUNTY VS TRANMERE ROVERS
Another side chasing automatic promotion in League Two is Notts County, they welcome 22nd placed Tranmere Rovers to Meadow Lane, and will be fancying their chances of three points given that the visitors have lost their last nine away games in the league. With a comfortable home win predicted, I am surprised we are able to get 7/4 on David McGoldrick to get on the scoresheet. He is averaging a goal every 141 minutes this season, and has thirteen League Two goals to his name.
MAINZ VS ST PAULI
Mainz currently occupy the last remaining European spot in the Bundesliga, and sit just four points off the Champions League spaces. A home tie against St Pauli will be just what the doctor ordered with them looking to cut that gap to one point, ahead of Leipzig's game with Heidenheim on Sunday. The key to a Mainz victory looks to be the goals of striker Jonathan Burkardt, the 24 year-old has scored 14 goals in just 1,338 minutes this season - a goal every 96 minutes. He has scored in ten of his eighteen starts this season, which includes bagging a brace in the reverse fixture against St Pauli. With 13/8 on offer for him to score here, and 9/1 for him to grab another two goals against them, I am keen to get stuck in.
TORINO VS AC MILAN
AC Milan exited the Champions League on Tuesday evening, that's been the only real negative since Sergio Conceicao's arrival at the start of the year. Santiago Gimenez signing from Feyenoord was not enough to see Milan overcome the Dutch side, despite Gimenez getting himself on the scoresheet. He has also notched in both of his Serie A appearances for The Rossineri, that has taken his total for the season to 17 goals in just 1,526 minutes. With Gimenez averaging a goal every 90 minutes, I was drawn to the 2/1 for him to continue his goalscoring run.
AL TAAWOUN VS AL SHABAB
Abderrazak Hamdallah will go down in the history books in the Saudi Pro League, the veteran striker has 19 goals to his name for new side Al Shabab this season, with the Moroccan averaging a goal every 120 minutes. This has included him scoring a brace on five occasions as well. He will be relishing the sight of a trip to Al Taawoun, a side in which Hamdallah has scored in eleven of his thirteen appearances against them - scoring fifteen goals in those appearances. With the prices on offer for him in the goalscoring markets, I am keen to get him onside here.
AL ITTIHAD VS AL HILAL
The top two in the Saudi Pro League clash on Saturday, with just four points separating Al Ittihad in first place, and Al Hilal in second. Karim Benzema has fired Al Ittihad to the top of the league, with fifteen league goals, and he currently sits second in the top goalscorer standings. He is averaging a goal every 97 minutes this season, with 17 goals in 1,653 minutes. The Frenchman has scored in four of his five appearances against Al Hilal, and with 13/10 on offer, I am happy to back him to continue that run.
The injury to Aleksandar Mitrovic looked to be problematic for Al Hilal. However, Brazilian Marcos Leonardo has filled the void left by Mitrovic well. He has 20 goals in his 1,973 minutes for Al Hilal this season - averaging a goal every 99 minutes. Leonardo has scored in ten of his last twelve appearances, scoring fourteen goals in that spell. With just short of 2/1 around here for Leonardo to continue his goalscoring form, I keen to get him onside.
