Eight sides are just one game away from Wembley as the FA Cup Quarter-Finals take place. Almost all of the competition's usual 'big hitters' have departed, leaving just Manchester City as the only club to taste any major trophy success in the last 35 years - with Nottingham Forest winning the League Cup back in 1990. This season's competition gives those sides a realistic opportunity of putting their droughts to bed, with four of the remaining eight sides never having got their hands on any major silverware in their history. Saturday's action pits four of the Premier League's most inform sides against one another.

FULHAM VS CRYSTAL PALACE

Crystal Palace make the 10-mile trip across London to Craven Cottage to take on Fulham. The visitors are looking to make the semi-finals of this competition for the second time in four years, having lost on their last appearance at Wembley in 2022 against Chelsea. Fulham are looking to make their first semi-final appearance in the FA Cup since defeat also to Chelsea in 2002. This presents a great opportunity for both of these sides to register their first major silverware in their club's history despite having gone close on a number of occasions.

Given what is at stake for both of these sides, I can see this being a hard-fought battle between these London rivals. They recently met in the Premier League with Palace coming away with all three points in a clinical display. It's hard to see the hosts allowing them the freedom that they afforded them last month, and this could easily go the distance, with extra-time and penalties awaiting the sides should they not be able to be separated after 90 minutes. Referee Darren England has been allocated this one, and he could be busy on what is set to be a fiery affair, where the 'dark arts' of the game could be on show. I am keen to exploit that angle, and England is the perfect referee to assist with that. He has given a card in nine of his seventeen matches this season for time-wasting, and this could be an occasion where he is forced to penalise players once again for that. Bernd Leno is the most booked player this season in the Fulham ranks for time-wasting, while Dean Henderson boasts the same title for Crystal Palace. It's likely that Matt Turner will retain his place in the Palace goal for this one, but given the opposition, there is a chance that Oliver Glasner could opt for his number one. I have covered Leno, Henderson and Turner each to be carded, with whichever Crystal Palace player doesn't get the nod getting voided.
