BEST BETS:

BRENTFORD - TO WIN - 5/4 (UNIBET) - 1PT

A 3-1 win in Brugge on Tuesday evening has given Aston Villa a commanding lead to take back to Villa Park on Wednesday evening, and the Villains are a very short price to make it into the Quarter-Finals of the Champions League. Their focus must return to league action for the time being as they look to ensure they're playing European football again next season. They travel to a Brentford side who had made the Gtech Community Stadium a fortress for the first half of the season, that form has petered out in recent matches, and the Bees are now picking the majority of their points on the road. Just one place separate the sides heading into this one, and a win for the hosts will keep their feint European hopes alive.

Despite their struggles at home of late, I fancy Brentford to get back to winning ways in this one. Aston Villa have won just one of their eight matches following Champions League games - that win was against a then bottom of the league Wolves. Villa's form on the road of late has also left a lot to be desired, they've lost seven of their last nine Premier League away games, and against a Brentford side who come into this one in good form, I can see that poor run continuing for Villa. The visitors have averaged just 1.05xG on their travels this season, with Brentford averaging 1.83xG at the Gtech. Should they perform to their season averages, it's likely that Villa will have to score two goals to deny the hosts the win here - something they've only done on five occasions away in the Premier League this campaign.
